    Inexperience an Understatement in OFallon

IHSSN.net PreviewThe O'Fallon Tigers made a run to the Class 7A Quarterfinals a year ago, falling to East St. Louis, 27-14. The Tigers entered the playoffs with a 6-3 record, and downed Lincoln-Way Central (16-0) and Lincoln-Way East (17-16) in their postseason run.

Coming off a successful season is a plus, but losing 19 starters is not. "Our inexperience will be something we will have to overcome in order to be successful," head coach Brandon Joggerst said. The lone starters back are; Carlos Beverly (6'3" 300 OG) and Nick Barrett (6'2" 245 OT). Beverly was an all-conference selection last year in the Southwestern Conference.

O'Fallon loses first-team all-stater De'Ron Flood at Tight End, who is now at Purdue University, along with a bevy of all-conference standouts. Other losses include; B.J. Hendrix (RB), Justin Meyers (OG), Dionte Sullivan (WR), Ben Benton (LB), Tivon Taylor (DE), and John Bouquet (DE).

Newcomers that will fill various roles in 2010 will be; Kendall Fennell (6'0" 210 FB/DE), Rob Williams (6'0" 255 C), Tony Porterfield (6'5" 245), Jalin Rose (5'10" 175 WR/DB), Jorian Clemmons (5'9" 165 DB/WR), Isaac Bouquet (6'3" 235 TE/DE), and E.J. Johnson (5'10" 185 RB). "We feel we have good athleticism to go along with a good core group of lineman."

The Tigers finished runner-up to East St. Louis in the Southwestern Conference last season. O'Fallon's two losses in league play were to the afforementioned, and Belleville West. "We hope to be competitive in a very tough conference." Other members include; Edwardsville, Belleville East, Collinsville, Granite City, and Alton.
