The 2010 Independent Schools that play IHSA football are the 4 following schools: Breese Mater Dei (Breese) Knights, Glenbard South (Glen Ellyn) Raiders, Metro-East Lutheran (Edwardsville) Knights, Mt Carmel (Mt. Carmel) Golden Aces. While the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces are independent in Illinois they basically play a full schedule of games against an Indiana conference, the Big Eight Conference.
